K. Reuben started playing football since he was a kid. Practised every day at the field outside the house and played with various age groups. Started participating in competitions and tournaments since he was in primary school. He is known to always wear the jersey #2.
He’s been representing the school and District all throughout secondary school. Ever since he started studying in Victoria Institution, he’s been representing KL School’s for National meets, ie: MSSM. He has also represented KL Indian FA and played in MIFA tournaments. KL emerged as runners-up (2nd place) in the tournament in 2008. However, Reuben was declared Best Player of the match. He was also recently declared Man of the Match in the recent MSSKL where Victoria Institution emerged as Champions.
After his SPM, he joined PDRM football club to play in the U-19 league. This was in 2008. In 2009, he was again asked to join PDRM U-19 team to play in the Presidents Cup and eventually got pulled up to play for the Senior team in the Super League (highest league in Malaysia).
In 2010-2011, he played for Selangor (Red Giants) Presidents Cup which is a U-21 league. In the same year, he represented Selangor in the Sukan Malaysia (SUKMA) also known as Malaysia Games held in Melaka. Selangor emerged as Runners Up of the Football tournament in SUKMA.
2011: Represented Malaysia for the World University Games (Universiade) in ShenZhen. He captained a few matches and played a new position – Striker! He scored 3 goals in total and helped Malaysia maintain their world ranking of 12th.
2011: Called up for Malaysian National Team. Played his first international cap on Oct 7th: Australia vs Malaysia.
2011: Signed a new deal with Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM), a Premiership side on 13th Oct 2011. He’s now signed as a professional footballer and will still be furthering his studies.
2012: ATM emerged as Champions of Malaysian Premier League! ATM is currently playing in the Malaysia Cup and is in the semi-finals!
On a personal note (2012): scored an amazing goal in the Kedah vs ATM match. Also scored another superb and only goal at the friendly in Jakarta where Malaysia U-23 played against Indonesia.
